1. A method comprising:
- obtaining a first location of a first pointer contact on an input surface, wherein the first pointer contact is created by a first pointer;
calculating a restricted area proximate and surrounding the first location;
processing the first pointer contact;
inhibiting processing of a second location of a second pointer contact within the restricted area, wherein the second pointer contact is from a second pointer different from the first pointer that created the first pointer contact on the input surface; and
after receiving an instruction specified by a user to remove the restricted area via an icon displayed on the input surface, removing the restricted area accordingly.

19. A non-transitory computer-readable medium having stored thereon instructions which when executed by a processor cause the processor to:
-
obtain a first location of a first pointer contact on an input surface, wherein the first pointer contact is created by a first pointer; calculate a restricted area proximate the first location; process the first pointer contact; inhibit processing of a second location of a second pointer contact within the restricted area, wherein the second pointer contact is from a second pointer different from the first pointer that created the first pointer contact on the input surface; and after receiving an instruction specified by a user to remove the restricted area via an icon displayed on the input surface, remove the restricted area accordingly.

20. An interactive input system comprising:
- an input device configured to determine locations of pointer contacts thereon;
memory storing instructions; and
a processor configured to execute the instructions to;
obtain a first location of a first pointer contact on an input surface, wherein the first pointer contact is created by a first pointer;
calculate a restricted area proximate the first location;
process the first pointer contact;
inhibit processing of a second location of a second pointer contact within the restricted area wherein the second pointer contact is from a second pointer different from the first pointer that created the first pointer contact on the input surface; and
after receiving an instruction specified by a user to remove the restricted area via an icon displayed on the input surface, remove the restricted area accordingly.
