Abstract

In order to resolve the problems of the inefficiency in confirming a request to establish a social relationship by a user and inadequacy of parameters provided for authentication under existing technologies, the present disclosure provides a method and apparatus which employs a social network server for determining relationship chain information indicative of an indirect social network relationship between a first client and a second client and for forwarding the authentication request message and the obtained relationship chain information to the second client.

Claims

1. A method comprising:

receiving, directly by a social network server, an authentication request message to establish a social relationship between a first client and a second client, the request message being sent by the first client;

determining, by the social network server and after receiving the authentication request message sent by the first client, a relationship chain information indicative of an indirect social network relationship between the first client and the second client;

determining, by the social network server, the relationship chain information between the first client and the second client based on identification information of the first client identification and information of the second client and a correlation between the identification information of the first and second clients and respective relationship chain information of the first and second clients; and

forwarding, by the social network server and in response to determining the relationship chain information between the first client and the second client, the authentication request message and the determined relationship chain information to the second client, the determined relationship chain information being for use by the second client to authenticate the authentication request message,

wherein the determining the relationship chain information includes determining a third client that has a direct social network relationship with both the first client and the second client.

2. The method as recited in claim 1, wherein the method further comprises:

searching, by the social network server, for a keyword in an inverted index;

locating, by the social network server, index records in the inverted index file of which the identification information of the first client and the identification information of the second client are keywords; and

obtaining, by the social network server, the relationship chain information of the first client and the second client from the located index records, the inverted index using the identification information of the first and second clients as an index keyword and the respective relationship chain information of the first and second clients as an index value.

3. The method as recited in claim 1, wherein the method further comprises:

identifying, by the social network server, one or more servers storing the identification information of the first client, the identification information of the second client, and the respective relationship chain information of the first client and the second client, from a plurality of servers storing the identification information of the first and second clients and corresponding relationship chain information of the first and second clients based on the identification information of the first client and the identification information of the second client; and

obtaining, by the social network server, the respective relationship chain information of the first client and the second client from the identified one or more servers.

4. The method as recited in claim 1, wherein, after receiving the authentication request message sent by the first client to establish a social relationship with the second client, the method further comprises:

sending, by the social network server, a blank relationship chain information to the second client when the social network server does not obtain a relationship chain information between the first client and the second client.

9. The method as recited in claim 1, further comprising extracting identification information of the first client and the second client from the authentication request message.

10. The method as recited in claim 1, wherein the determining the relationship chain information between the first client and the second client further includes determining a fourth client that has a direct social network relationship with both the first client and the second client, and

wherein the method further comprises selecting, prior to forwarding the determined relationship chain information, the third client or fourth client as having a higher degree of familiarity with each of the first client and the second client based on identification information of the third client and fourth client.

5. An apparatus for processing an authentication request message in a social network, the apparatus comprising:

one or more processors; and

computer readable media storing modules, which are executable by the one or more processors, the modules including;

an acquisition module that obtains a relationship chain information indicative of an indirect social network relationship between a first client and a second client, after receiving directly from the first client the authentication request message sent by the first client to establish a social relationship with the second client; and

a sending module that, in response to obtaining the relationship chain information by the acquisition module, forwards the authentication request message and the obtained relationship chain information to the second client, the relationship chain information being for use by the second client to authenticate the authentication request message,

wherein the acquisition module determines the relationship chain information between the first client and the second client based on identification information of the first client and identification information of the second client and a correlation between the identification information of the first and second clients and respective relationship chain information of the first and second clients, and

wherein determination of the relationship chain information, by the acquisition module, includes determining a third client that has a direct social network relationship with both the first client and the second client.

The apparatus as recited in claim 5, wherein the acquisition module searches for a keyword in an inverted index, locates index records in the inverted index of which keywords are the identification information of the first client and the identification information of the second client, and obtains the respective relationship chain information of the first client and the second client from the located index records, and

wherein the inverted index uses the identification information of the first and second clients as an index keyword and the respective relationship chain information of the first and second clients as an index value.

7. The apparatus as recited in claim 5, wherein the modules further include:

a determination module that, based on the identification information of the first client and the identification information of the second client, determines a server storing the identification information of the first client, the identification information of the second client, and the respective relationship chain information of the first client and the second client, from a plurality of servers storing mutually bound identification information of two given clients and respective relationship chain information of the two given clients, and

wherein the acquisition module obtains the respective relationship chain information of the first client and the second client from the determined server.

8. The apparatus as recited in claim 5, wherein the sending module sends a blank relationship chain information to the second client when the relationship chain information between the first client and the second client is not obtained.

11. The apparatus as recited in claim 5, wherein the acquisition module extracts identification information of the first client and the second client from the authentication request message.

12. The apparatus as recited in claim 5, wherein the determination of the relationship chain information between the first client and the second client further includes determining a fourth client that has a direct social network relationship with both the first client and the second client, and

wherein, prior to the sending module sending the determined relationship chain information, the acquisition module selects the third client or fourth client as having a higher degree of familiarity with each of the first client and the second client based on identification information of the third client and fourth client.
