Abstract

A pesticidal composition comprises at least one compound selected from a 1-(3-pyridyl-N-oxide) pyrazole compound of formula I, II, or III, or any agriculturally acceptable salt thereof, wherein R₁, R₂, R₃, R₄, R₅, R₆, R₇, R₈, R₁₂, R₁₃, Y, and Q, are as described herein. A method of controlling pests comprises applying the pesticidal composition near a population of pests.

Claims

1. A pesticidal composition, comprising 1-(3-pyridyl-N-oxide)pyrazole compound of formula I or any agriculturally acceptable salt thereof:

2. The composition of claim 1, wherein R₁, R₂, and R₄ are H.

3. The composition of claim 1, wherein R₃ is selected from H, F, Cl, Br, or I.

4. The composition of claim 1, wherein R₃ is H or F.

5. The composition of claim 1, wherein R₅ is selected from F, Cl, Br, I, or unsubstituted C₁-C₆ alkyl.

6. The composition of claim 1, wherein R₅ is Cl or CH₃.

7. The composition of claim 1, wherein R₆ is H.

8. The composition of claim 1, wherein R₇ is selected from H, CH₃, CH₂CH₃ CH₂C≡

CH, or CH(CH₃)C≡

CH.

9. The composition of claim 1, wherein R₈ is selected from C₁-C₆ alkyl-S(O)_nCH₂(unsubstituted C₃-C₁₀ halocycloalkyl), C₁-C₆ alkyl-S(O)_nC₃-C₆ haloalkyl wherein said halos are only on the carbon atom furthest from the sulfur atom.

10. The composition of claim 1, wherein R₈ is selected from C₁-C₄ alkyl-S—

CH₂-halocyclopropyl or CH₂CH₂SCH₂CH₂CF₃.

11. The composition of claim 1, wherein n is 0 or 1.

12. The composition of claim 1, further comprising:

(a) one or more compounds having acaricidal, algicidal, avicidal, bactericidal, fungicidal, herbicidal, insecticidal, molluscicidal, nematicidal, rodenticidal, or virucidal properties;

or

(b) one or more compounds that are antifeedants, bird repellents, chemosterilants, herbicide safeners, insect attractants, insect repellents, mammal repellents, mating disrupters, plant activators, plant growth regulators, or synergists;

or

(c) both (a) and (b).

13. The composition of claim 1, further comprising one or more compounds selected from:
