1. Apparatus comprising:

  • at least one computer memory that is not a transitory signal and that comprises instructions executable by at least one processor to;

    send an interrogation signal to an electronic transaction card (e-card) to report information related to communication the e-card has had with point of sale (POS) devices, including interrogations from the POS devices, that are separate from the e-card and the apparatus;

    record a response from the e-card to the interrogation signal; and

    responsive to a determination that a signal from e-card is received over a short-range wireless protocol, automatically send a message to the e-card to authorize a transaction associated with at least one interrogation from at least one of the POS devices without user input.
