1. A threat detection system comprising:
- a processor;
a memory coupled to the processor and having a plurality of image data buffers;
a display coupled to the processor;
a plurality of integrated passive sensors coupled to the processor; and
the processor configured toreceive image data in a format of a plurality of pixels from the plurality of integrated passive sensors operating within at least two spectral bands,store the image data in the plurality of image data buffers, each image data buffer storing the image data of a different spectral band,transmit a synchronized representation of the image data from the plurality of integrated passive sensors to the display,detect relative differences between image contrast values of the plurality of pixels within each image data buffer,assign a particular status as a result of detecting the image contrast values within a portion of the image data exceeding a threshold indicating a probability of a concealed object, andselect an alarm signal to transmit to an alarm based on the particular status defined by the probability of the concealed object.

Abstract
A real-time threat detection system incorporating a plurality of sensors adapted to detect radiation across the majority of the electromagnetic spectrum. The system also includes an aided or automatic target recognition module which compares the data from the sensors against known radiation signatures and issues an alert when an anomalous signature is detected. The system further includes an operator station which displays sensor information allowing the operator to intervene. The sensors detect radiation which is normally emitted by persons or other bodies and display areas to the operator where normal emissions are blocked.

12. A method of detecting concealed threats on a target, the method comprising:
-
receiving image data at a memory from a plurality of integrated passive sensors operating within at least two spectral bands, the image data in a format of a plurality of pixels; storing the image data in a plurality of image data buffers of the memory, each image data buffer storing the image data of a different spectral band; transmitting a synchronized representation of the image data from the plurality of integrated passive sensors to a display using a processor coupled to the memory; detecting relative differences between image contrast values of the plurality of pixels within each image data buffer using the processor; assigning a particular status using the processor as a result of detecting the image contrast values within a portion of the image data exceeding a threshold indicating a probability of a concealed object; and selecting an alarm signal using the processor based on the particular status defined by the probability of the concealed object. - View Dependent Claims (13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19)
