1. A controlled abrasion device comprising a hand piece, an abrasive tip, a feedback control mechanism, and an electrical motor, wherein the feedback control mechanism comprises (a) a source electrode that applies an electrical signal to an area of skin, (b) a return electrode and (c) a controller, andwherein the feedback control mechanism measures in real time dynamic change of an electrical parameter at a skin site and calculates a rate of change in the electrical parameter over time when the device is applied to the skin to control the level of skin abrasion, wherein the electrical signal does not cause permanent damage to the skin, andwherein, after the rate of change in the electrical parameter reaches a maximum value, the controller stops the abrasion when the rate of change in the electrical parameter decreases to a set percentage of the maximum value or a preset value that is less than the maximum value.
