1. A device for correcting a vision deficiency related to color discernment comprising an optical element:

  • wherein the optical element is an intraocular lens, a contact lens, an electronic display, or an item of eyewear comprising;

    a composition comprising rhodamine 6G in an amount of about 4% (w/w) to about 6% (w/w) and a polymer that is poly(vinyl butyral-co-vinyl alcohol-co-vinyl acetate) having an average molecular weight in a range of about 170,000 g/mol to about 250,000 g/mol, and in an amount of about 90% (w/w) to about 96% (w/w);

    wherein the composition is solid.
