5. A method for sensing tire deformation and inflating a tire comprising the steps of:
-
a) measuring the time intervals between the ultrasonic signals transmitted and the echo signals received from at least one ultrasonic sensor embedded in the bead lock of the tire as the tire is turning; b) acquiring the time intervals with a data acquisition system; c) transmitting the acquired time intervals to software code that analyzes the information to detect and measure deformation of the tire and sending instructions to a central tire inflation system; and d) inflating or deflating the tire based on the instructions of the software code related to the measured information on the deformation of the steel belting of the tire. - View Dependent Claims (6, 7, 8)
