Abstract
An orthopedic implant assembly is disclosed for the treatment of fracture or other trauma to a long bone. The implant assembly includes an intramedullary nail and a lag screw that extends through a transverse bore of the intramedullary nail. The intramedullary nail includes an elongated body and one or more enlarged portions positioned adjacent to the transverse bore to reinforce the intramedullary nail.
