1. A method for monitoring a person'"'"'s sleep parameters, sleep activities, sleep state, or awake status sleep, comprising:
- providing a monitoring device that includes a microphone, a transmitter and sensors to determine air quality, sound level/quality, light quality and ambient temperature near the person;
an accelerometer or other motion detection apparatus configured to record movement information of the person;
using the accelerometer, or other motion detection apparatus, and the monitoring device configured to assist in determining sleep information and sleep behavior information of the person, the microphone configured to record movement sounds of the person;
providing that the recording of the microphone is disabled to stop recording person movement sounds that are detected by the accelerometer or other motion detection apparatus when the movement sounds are not directed to asleep related parameter;
in response to information from the monitoring device and the accelerometer or other motion detection apparatus detecting at least one of a person'"'"'s motion, movement and gesture for determining a person'"'"'s sleep parameters, sleep activities, sleep state, or awake status; and
communicating the at least one of a person'"'"'s motion, movement and gesture to the monitoring device that includes at least two elements selected from;
a proximity sensor;
a temperature sensor/humidity sensor;
a particulate sensor;
a light sensor;
a microphone;
a speaker;
two RF transmitters (BLE/ANT+WIFI);
a memory card; and
