System, method and program product for triggering automatic transmission of emergency data during an emergency
First Claim
1. A method for providing information, to an emergency response center, about a building at which an emergency has occurred, the method comprising the steps of:
- prior to the emergency, a first computer located within the building storing an electronic diagram of an interior of the building in a database accessible to the first computer, the first computer being connected to a communications network, wherein the building is a home owned by an individual person;
prior to the emergency, the first computer receiving from a user of a telephone a registration of a telephone number of the emergency response center such that a subsequent call from the telephone to the telephone number will initiate transmission of the electronic diagram from the first computer to the emergency response center, the telephone located within the building and wired to the communications network;
the first computer storing the telephone number of the emergency response center in the database;
the first computer monitoring outgoing calls from the telephone within the building to identify an outgoing call dialed by the individual person from the telephone in the building;
the first computer determining whether or not the identified outgoing call is the telephone number of the emergency response center stored in the database;
in response to the first computer having determined that the outgoing call is the telephone number of the emergency response center stored in the database, the first computer automatically transmitting, via the communications network;
(i) the electronic diagram to a second computer of the emergency response center to enable the emergency response center to access the electronic diagram to facilitate handling of the emergency at the building and (ii) emergency data having relevance to the emergency to the second computer of the emergency response center and to a plurality of emergency responders available to respond to the emergency, wherein the emergency responders are associated with the emergency response center, and wherein the emergency data transmitted to each emergency responder is specific to each emergency responder.

Abstract
A method, system and program product for automatic distribution of emergency data during an emergency. The method includes loading an emergency planning and coordination program onto a computer system connected to a Voice over IP network and inputting emergency data for a location into the program. The method includes storing the data inputted to a database coupled to the system, and automatically transmitting, responsive to confirming receipt of a communication corresponding to an emergency number stored in the database, pertinent data from the emergency data accessed from the database to another computer system of an emergency service provider for distribution to one or more respective devices used by respective emergency responders available to respond to the emergency situation at the location, wherein the pertinent data transmitted to the respective devices used by the emergency responders available facilitates handling of the emergency situation at the location.
