1. An autonomous lane-changing system for a motor vehicle comprising:

  • a sensor configured to determine a position of a plurality of surrounding vehicles within a predetermined area and to provide a position signal for each surrounding vehicle; and

    a controller configured toreceive the position signals, to generate path data for the motor vehicle, and to provide a series of instructions for a steering system, andreturn control of braking, steering, and accelerator systems to a driver in response to receiving at least one of a brake application, a steering input, or an accelerator input.
