Patent Images

1. An X-ray scanner comprising:

  • a plurality of X-ray source points positioned around an imaging volume, wherein each of said plurality of X-ray source points comprises an electron gun adapted to produce a current, a focusing element, and a target region and is configured to emit X-ray radiation;

    an array of X-ray detectors positioned around the imaging volume and arranged to output detector signals in response to detecting said X-ray radiation;

    a conveyor arranged to convey an object through the imaging volume in a scan direction; and

    at least one processor arranged to process the detector signals to produce an image data set defining an image of the object, wherein the X-ray scanner is arranged to control said current so that it varies in proportion to a speed of the conveyor.
