1. A method for wireless docking, the method comprising:

  • performing, by a wireless docking center (WDC) and with a wireless dockee (WD), pre-association discovery by at least sending, by the WDC and to the WD, an indication that user type authentication is supported by the WDC;

    receiving, by the WDC and from the WD, a request to one or more of;

    create a new wireless docking environment (WDN) for use at the WDC;

    modify an existing WDN associated with the WDC; and

    delete the existing WDN associated with the WDC; and

    performing user type authentication by at least;

    receiving, by the WDC and from the WD, one or more authentication credentials that corresponds to a user of the WD;

    determining, by the WDC, whether or not the one or more authentication credentials received from the WD grant authority to complete the request; and

    in response to determining that the one or more authentication credentials grant access to complete the request, sending, by the WDC and to the WD, a message indicating that the WDC accepts the request.
