1. A system for detecting and managing wildfires comprising:

  • a plurality of fixed sensors, each operable to detect ambient conditions in the vicinity of the fixed sensor; and

    a plurality of mobile sensors, each worn by a responder and capable of detecting ambient conditions near the respective responder and conditions of the responder, the plurality of mobile sensors, wherein the plurality of fixed sensors form a mesh network by using the plurality of fixed sensors and the plurality of mobile sensors to relay communications through the mesh network until a sensor from the plurality of fixed sensors and the plurality of mobile sensors with connectivity to an outside network is found thereby allowing the plurality of fixed sensors and the plurality of mobile sensors to communicate with a central control center;

    wherein the control center determines attributes of the wildfire using the collected data from the plurality of fixed sensors and the plurality of mobile sensors and coordinates activities of responders in response to the wildfire.
