Abstract

A display unit includes a plurality of light emitting devices, each of the light emitting devices including a function layer including at least an organic layer is sandwiched between a first electrode and a second electrode, and which have a resonator structure for resonating light by using a space between the first electrode and the second electrode as a resonant section and extracting the light through the second electrode are arranged on a substrate, wherein in the respective light emitting devices, the organic layer is made of an identical layer, and a distance of the resonant section between the first electrode and the second electrode is set to a plurality of different values.

Claims

1. A display unit comprising:

a substrate;

a plurality of thin film transistors arranged on the substrate;

a first insulating film arranged on the plurality of thin film transistors; and

a plurality of organic light emitting elements arranged on the first insulating film,

wherein the organic light emitting elements includes a first organic light emitting element, a second organic light emitting element, and a third organic light emitting element,

wherein the thin film transistors includes a first transistor configured to control the first organic light emitting element, a second transistor configured to control the second organic light emitting element, and a third transistor configured to control the third organic light emitting element,

wherein, in the first light emitting element, a second metal layer is arranged at a first distance from a first metal layer, and generated light is extracted through the second metal layer,

wherein, in the second light emitting element, the second metal layer is arranged at a second distance from the first metal layer, and generated light is extracted through the second metal layer,

wherein, in the third light emitting element, the second metal layer is arranged at a third distance from the first metal layer, and generated light is extracted through the second metal layer,

wherein the first distance is larger than the second distance,

wherein the second distance is larger than the third distance, and

wherein the second metal layer includes ytterbium.

2. The display unit according to claim 1,

wherein the first light emitting element is configured to emit red light,

wherein the second light emission element is configured to emit green light, and

wherein the third light emission element is configured to emit blue light.

3. The display unit according to claim 1, wherein the first metal layer is a mirror layer, and wherein the second metal layer is a half mirror layer.

4. The display unit according to claim 3, wherein the organic light emitting devices have a resonator structure for resonating light by using a space between the mirror and the half mirror as a resonant section.

5. The display unit according to claim 1, wherein the first distance, the second distance, and the third distance are set according to a wavelength of red light, green light, and blue light, respectively.

6. The display unit according to claim 1, further comprising a second insulating film separating the first, second, and third light emission elements.

7. The display unit according to claim 1, further comprising a protective layer arranged on the organic light emitting elements, an adhesive layer arranged on the protective layer, and a sealing panel arranged on the adhesive layer.

8. The display unit according to claim 1, wherein a thickness of the second metal layer is between about 1-50 nm.

9. The display unit according to claim 1, wherein the display unit is a bottom emission type display.

10. The display unit according to claim 1, wherein the second metal layer further includes silver.

11. A display unit comprising:

a substrate;

a plurality of thin film transistors arranged on the substrate;

a first insulating film arranged on the plurality of thin film transistors; and

a plurality of organic light emitting elements arranged on the first insulating film,

wherein the organic light emitting elements comprises;

a first metal layer;

a second metal layer;

a first light emitting layer disposed between the first metal layer and the second metal layer in a first light emission region;

a second light emitting layer disposed between the first metal layer and the second metal layer in a second light emission region; and

a third light emitting layer disposed between the first metal layer and the second metal layer in a third light emission region,

wherein, in the first light emission region, the second metal layer is arranged at a first distance from the first metal layer, and generated light is extracted through the second metal layer,

wherein, in the second light emission region, the second metal layer is arranged at a second distance from the first metal layer, and generated light is extracted through the second metal layer,

wherein, in the third light emission region, the second metal layer is arranged at a third distance from the first metal layer, and generated light is extracted through the second metal layer,

wherein the first distance is larger than the second distance,

wherein the second distance is larger than the third distance, and

wherein the second metal layer includes ytterbium.

12. The display unit according to claim 11,

wherein the first light emission region is configured to emit red light,

wherein the second light emission region is configured to emit green light, and

wherein the third light emission region is configured to emit blue light.

13. The display unit according to claim 11, wherein the first metal layer is a mirror layer, and wherein the second metal layer is a half mirror layer.

14. The display unit according to claim 13, wherein the organic light emitting devices have a resonator structure for resonating light by using a space between the mirror and the half mirror as a resonant section.

15. The display unit according to claim 11, wherein the first distance, the second distance, and the third distance are set according to a wavelength of red light, green light, and blue light, respectively.

16. The display unit according to claim 11, further comprising a second insulating film separating the first, second, and third light emission regions.

17. The display unit according to claim 11, further comprising a protective layer arranged on the organic light emitting elements, an adhesive layer arranged on the protective layer, and a sealing panel arranged on the adhesive layer.

18. The display unit according to claim 11, wherein a thickness of the second metal layer is between about 1-50 nm.

19. The display unit according to claim 11, wherein the display unit is a bottom emission type display.

20. The display unit according to claim 11, wherein the second metal layer further includes silver.
