1. A method for communicating between database client users and administrators, the method comprising:

  • receiving, at at least one processor of a computer system and from a database administrator (DBA) responsible for managing aspects of a particular database, a message request comprising;

    a database name of the particular database, a plurality of message recipients, and message content including a file attachment, the message request being a request to send the message content to database client users currently connected to the particular database;

    determining an Internet Protocol (IP) address associated with each message recipient of the plurality of message recipients, without using an instant messaging address for each respective message recipient of the plurality of message recipients;

    after determining the IP address associated with each respective message recipient of the plurality of message recipients, transmitting a first message comprising the message content including the file attachment to each of the determined IP addresses, the first message not including identification of any specific users of the particular database;

    receiving a second message from one IP address of the determined IP addresses to which the first message was transmitted, the second message comprising a reply message to the first message and being transmitted to an IP address of a database server associated with the database administrator (DBA), the second message further not including an identity of the database administrator (DBA); and

    initiating display of the second message in a display window.
