1. In an electronic device having a processor executing one or more applications that provide selectable content, a method comprising:

  • receiving selection of at least two different selectable contents from one or more available application user interfaces;

    assigning a sequential tag to at least one of the different selected content, wherein the sequential tag indicates a selected order in which the different selected content are to be presented at an end location within an editable application user interface document, wherein the selected order is determined from a listing of the different selected content;

    completing a retrieve and insert operation by inserting of the selected content within the end location in response to receipt of a response to a prompt, which response indicates completion of a current selection of content;

    inserting the different selected content into the end location in the selected order corresponding to the sequential tag of each respective selected content relative to each other sequential tag assigned; and

    in response to receipt of a different response indicating that additional content is to be selected and sequentially arranged prior to concurrent insertion of all selectable content into the end location;

    requesting entry of a specific sequential tag for the selected content;

    assigning to the selected content one of the sequential tag received and a default sequential tag generated when no sequential tag is received within a pre-set timeout period; and

    returning to a selection mode for selection of one or more other content from the application user interfaces.
