15. An input device for use with an electronic system of the type including a substantially planar deck having a basin extending downwardly from the deck and comprising first and second recessed planar regions, the input device comprising:
-
an input surface having a first zone substantially coextensive with the first recessed planar region of the basin and configured to sense position information of an input object, and a flexible second zone substantially contiguous with the first zone and overhanging the second recessed planar region of the basin and configured to sense force information of an input object; a stiffener substrate comprising; a first portion affixed to a bottom surface of the first zone, at least one finger extending parallel to and space apart from the flexible second zone, and at least one T-shaped spring arm co-planar with the first portion, wherein the T-shaped spring arm extends cantilevered over the second recessed planar region of the basin; and an actuation mechanism disposed between the at least one finger and the second zone. - View Dependent Claims (16, 17, 18, 19)
