Sensor inserting device and operating method thereof
First Claim
1. A sensor inserting device for inserting a detector of a sensor which measures biological information of a person to be measured into a living body of the person to be measured, the sensor forming part of a sensor unit, the sensor inserting device comprising:
- a housing possessing a distal end;
a body base at the distal end of the housing;
a support arm at the distal end of the housing that is movable relative to the body base;
a movement mechanism in the housing configured to insert the detector and an insertion needle into the body of the person to be measured by moving, toward the distal end of the housing, both the sensor unit and the insertion needle which is configured to pierce the body of the person to be measured to position the detector in the living body at an insertion location;
a signal processor configured to process a signal including biological information from the sensor, the signal processor being located at the distal end of the housing and being positioned on the body base in an initial position of the signal processor;
the support arm including a protruding portion that protrudes from the support arm to engage the signal processor; and
the support arm being movable while the protruding portion of the support arm is in engagement with the signal processor to move the signal processor from the initial position to a position in which the signal processor is electrically connected to the sensor unit when the detector is positioned in the living body at the location of insertion in which the detector is inserted into the body of the person to be measured.

Abstract
The sensor inserting device includes a device body, a movement mechanism which inserts a detector and an insertion needle into a body of a patient by moving a sensor with the insertion needle, and a dwelling member which is arranged on a moving path of the sensor and attached to the sensor by movement of the sensor caused by the movement mechanism. The dwelling member is allowed to dwell on the skin of the patient with the sensor and the transmitter connected at a location in which the detector is inserted into the body of the patient.

11. A sensor inserting device comprising:
-
a housing possessing a distal end; a handle mounted on the housing and axially movable relative to the housing; a head movably positioned in the housing and movable in the housing relative to the housing; a sensor unit connected to the head and movable together with the head toward the distal end of the housing, the sensor unit including a detector insertable into a living body to detect a body fluid component used to measure biological information about the living body, the head being movable relative to the detector after the detector is inserted into the living body; an insertion needle connected to the sensor unit and movable together with the sensor unit toward the distal end of the housing, the insertion needle being movable relative to the sensor unit after puncturing skin of the living body; the handle being operatively connected to the head so that operation of the handle while the distal end of the housing faces the skin of the living body moves the head, together with the sensor unit and the insertion needle, in the distal end direction to move the insertion needle beyond the distal end of the housing so that the insertion needle punctures the skin at a location of insertion and the detector enters the living body at the location of insertion; a signal processor attached to the housing and configured to process a signal including the biological information; and the signal processor is movable to a position in which the signal processor is electrically connected to the sensor unit and overlies the location of insertion at which the detector enters the living body. - View Dependent Claims (12, 13, 14, 15)

16. A sensor inserting device comprising:
-
a housing possessing a distal end; a handle mounted on the housing; a head movably positioned in the housing to both move toward the distal end of the housing and away from the distal end of the housing; a detector insertable into a living body to detect a body fluid component used to measure biological information about the living body, the detector forming part of a sensor unit that is positioned in the housing and that is mounted on and movable together with the head toward the distal end of the housing; the handle being operatively connected to the head so that operation of the handle while the distal end of the housing faces the skin of the living body moves the head together with the sensor unit toward the distal end of the housing to cause the detector to enter the living body at a location of insertion; a body base positioned at the distal end of the housing; a signal processor configured to process a signal including the biological information, the signal processor being movably mounted on the body base to move to a position overlying the sensor unit after the detector enters the living body at the location of insertion. - View Dependent Claims (17, 18, 19, 20)
