1. An intra-vascular device to prevent emboli in an aortic arch from entering all side branches of said aortic arch, said device comprising:
- a cylindrical structure capable of insertion into said aortic arch to cover all said side branches, and said structure comprising two mesh layers; and
a valve formed from said two mesh layers, said valve configured for allowing a medical instrument to pass proximally while preventing emboli to pass distally through said valve;
whereby said cylindrical structure forms a trap for said emboli entering said cylindrical structure distally.
