1. A medical system, comprising:
- a pulse generator configured to generate electrical pulses of an electrical stimulation therapy, wherein the pulse generator includes an N number of output channels;
an electrode-containing component that includes an M number of electrodes, wherein each of the electrodes is configured to deliver the electrical pulses of the electrical stimulation therapy, and wherein M is greater than N; and
a relay component that is configured to electrically couple the output channels of the pulse generator to the electrodes of the electrode-containing component;
wherein;
the pulse generator includes a microcontroller configured to generate instructions for the relay component;
the relay component, in response to the instructions from the microcontroller, is configured to;
electrically couple a first output channel of the output channels to a first electrode of the electrodes at a first point in time;
electrically couple a second output channel of the output channels to a second electrode of the electrodes at the first point in time;
electrically couple the first output channel to the first electrode at a second point in time; and
electrically couple the second output channel to a third electrode of the electrodes at the second point in time, the third electrode being different from the second electrode.

A pulse generator is configured to generate electrical pulses of an electrical stimulation therapy. The pulse generator includes an N number of output channels and a microcontroller configured to generate instructions. The pulse generator is configured to generate different stimulation waveforms simultaneously for the output channels. The different waveforms have different waveform characteristics. A mesh electrode array includes an M number of electrodes. Each of the electrodes is configured to deliver the electrical pulses of the electrical stimulation therapy. M is at least several times greater than N. A solid state relay contains a plurality of controllable switches that is each configured to be turned on or off in response to the instructions received from the microcontroller, such that the solid state relay routes the output channels of the pulse generator to different subset of the electrodes of the mesh electrode array at different points in time.

generating, via a pulse generator, electrical pulses of an electrical stimulation therapy, wherein the pulse generator includes an N number of output channels; and electrically coupling, via a relay component, the output channels of the pulse generator to a subset of an M number of electrodes of an electrode-containing component, wherein M is greater than N, and wherein each of the electrodes is configured to deliver the electrical pulses of the electrical stimulation therapy; wherein the pulse generator includes a microcontroller configured to generate instructions for the relay component, and wherein the electrically coupling comprises; electrically coupling a first output channel of the output channels to a first electrode of the electrodes at a first point in time; electrically coupling a second output channel of the output channels to a second electrode of the electrodes at the first point in time; electrically coupling the first output channel to the first electrode at a second point in time; and electrically coupling the second output channel to a third electrode of the electrodes at the second point in time, the third electrode being different from the second electrode. - View Dependent Claims (15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20)
