Illuminated polymer lenticular fishing lures
First Claim
1. A fishing lure comprising:
- a singular, one piece lenticular lens having a lenticular front surface, lenticular layers and a flat back translucent surface, the lenticular lens configured to receive light from a light source from the flat back translucent surface and project an image outwardly through the lenticular layers;
the light source optically coupled to a polymer light transmission medium;
a lure body comprising the polymer light transmission medium attached to or in close proximity to the flat back translucent surface of the lenticular lens;
a power source electrically coupled to the light source;
an eyelet through which fishing line attaches to the fishing lure and which is connected to the lure body; and
a fishing hook coupled to the lure body.

Abstract
Spoon, swimbait, jig and hard bodied fishing lures fishing equipped with one or more light sources interacting and/or interfacing with one or more polymer light transmission mediums are described herein. The light source optically coupled to the polymer light transmission medium acts to illuminate one or more areas of the fishing lure to provide and maintain its color, color pattern, iridescence, and flash. The combination of the lenticular lens placed with the flat back translucent surface to the polymer light transmission medium on or adjacent to the polymer light transmission medium to mimic the exact appearance of the bait fish while giving the lure a motion effect and a two or three dimensional appearance not attainable by any other lure technology known today.
