Electronic messaging exchange
First Claim
1. A system comprising:
- a workstation configured to;
compose a first message according to input commands received from a first local user, the first message being designated for delivery to a first remote user;
convert the first message from a voice format to an alphanumeric format using speech recognition;
receive a second message from a second local user designated for delivery to a second remote user, wherein the second message is transcribed on a scannable physical document in a hand-written format in a first language;
perform optical character recognition (OCR) on the second message;
identify, from the OCR of the second message, an account number of the second remote user;
obtain contact information related to the second remote user from a database, based on the identified account number of the second remote user; and
determine, from the obtained contact information related to the second remote user, an email address of the second remote user;
transmit the first message and the second message to a central station;
the central station configured to;
convert the second message to a format appropriate for transmission to the second remote user;
perform a first security check on the first message and the converted second message;
transmit the first message to the first remote user only after the first message has passed the first security check; and
transmit the converted second message to the second remote user, based at least in part on the obtained contact information related to the second remote user, only after the converted second message has passed a second security check.

Abstract
A computer-implemented system and method for secure electronic message exchange including coupling a control platform to a workstation of a plurality of workstations via a communications medium, where the control platform includes one or more apparatuses for monitoring, controlling, conversion, and billing, related to messages exchanged between a plurality of local users and a plurality of remote users. The system prevents forwarding or copying of a message sent by a local user of the plurality of local users and received by a remote user of the plurality of remote users, to another party by the control platform. The system and method also provides for authenticating the remote user with the control platform.

6. A computer-implemented method for processing communications of a first local user and a second local user, the method comprising:
-
receiving a first message from the first local user designated for delivery to a first remote user; converting the first message from a voice format to an alphanumeric format using speech recognition; receiving a second message from the second local user designated for delivery to a second remote user, the second message being a digital image of a scannable physical document whereupon a handwritten message is transcribed in a first language; performing optical character recognition (OCR) on the second message; identifying, from the OCR of the second message, an account number of the second remote user; obtaining contact information related to the second remote user from a database, based on the identified account number of the second remote user; determining, from the obtained contact information related to the second remote user, an email address of the second remote user; converting the second message to a format appropriate for transmission to the second remote user; performing a first security check on the first message; performing a second security check on the converted second message; transmitting the first message to the first remote user only after the first message passes the first security check; and transmitting the converted second message to the second remote user, based at least in part on the obtained contact information related to the second remote user, only after the converted second message passes the second security check. - View Dependent Claims (7, 8, 9, 10, 11)

12. A non-transitory computer-readable medium having instructions stored thereon that, when executed by at least one computing device, causes the at least one computing device to perform operations comprising:
-
receiving a first message from a first local user designated for delivery to a first remote user; converting the first message from a voice format to an alphanumeric format using speech recognition; receiving a second message from a second local user designated for delivery to a second remote user, the second message being a digital image of a scannable physical document whereupon a handwritten message is transcribed in a first language; performing optical character recognition (OCR) on the second message; identifying, from the OCR of the second message, an account number of the second remote user; obtaining contact information related to the second remote user from a database, based on the identified account number of the second remote user; determining, from the obtained contact information related to the second remote user, an email address of the second remote user; converting the second message to a format appropriate for transmission to the second remote user; performing a first security check on the first message; performing a second security check on the converted second message; transmitting the first message to the first remote user only after the first message passes the first security check; and transmitting the converted second message to the second remote user, based at least in part on the obtained contact information related to the second remote user, only after the converted second message passes the second security check. - View Dependent Claims (13, 14, 15)
