1. A method, comprising:

  • connecting each of a plurality of segments of spatially localized lamps of a multi-circuit lighting system to a current supply wire;

    modulating, via respective control signals, power supplied to each of the plurality of segments of spatially localized lamps to independently energize each of the plurality of segments; and

    switching the control signals among a plurality of different user-defined settings, wherein the switching is activated by a remote control device, and the remote control device transmits a wireless signal including one or more of an infrared signal, a radio frequency signal, or a microwave signal.
