8. A mobile security system, comprising:
-
a receiving component that, at a first device, receives a command to lock the first device; a locking component that, in response to the command, locks the first device; and a transmitting component that, in response to a locking of the first device, transmits current location data and machine identification data that is associated with the first device, and that is accessible by a server, to a second device that is located in a designated proximity to the first device, wherein the server is configured to select, from a plurality of mobile devices that subscribe to a mobile security system, one or more subscriber mobile devices, including the second device, that are located within the designated proximity to a last known location of the first device so that location data and machine identification data can be relayed from the first device to the server via the second device. - View Dependent Claims (9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14)
