1. A method of selectively generating image enhancing light using an embedded OLED display, comprising:
- capturing, with an image sensor, a digital representation of a target scene upon detection of an image capture command for capture of the target scene;
detecting one or more characteristics of the target scene from the digital representation;
selecting a pixel output profile from among a plurality of stored output profiles based at least in part on the one or more characteristics; and
driving the OLED display to generate a light output according to the selected pixel output profile to illuminate the target scene during capture of an image of the target scene with the image sensor.
