  • a wire having a distal end and a proximal end, said distal end including a recess defining a hook portion, said proximal end operably coupled to a slide;

    a sheath surrounding said wire, said sheath having a distal end and a proximal end, said distal end including a mouth, said proximal end attached to a housing, said housing slidingly containing said slide, wherein said wire slides longitudinally within said sheath;

    wherein said slide is movable between a distal position and a proximal position, in said distal position, said wire is advanced distally within said sheath to an open position and in said proximal position, said wire is retracted proximally within said sheath to a closed position;

    wherein said recess is sized to receive a component of a medical implant;

    wherein said mouth has a slot shaped such that in said closed position, said recess and said slot combine to form a closed transverse passage in which said component is trapped;
