1. A method of determining tire pressure, comprising:
- providing a control unit which comprises a pressure sensor, wherein the control unit is in fluid communication with a wheel valve via a fluid control circuit;
measuring a pressure of air in the fluid control circuit utilizing the pressure sensor;
determining whether a leak is present in a fluid control circuit and providing a leakage compensation pressure; and
calculating a tire pressure by adding the pressure of the air in the fluid control circuit and the leakage compensation pressure together.

Abstract
A method of determining tire pressure includes providing a control unit which comprises a pressure sensor. The control unit is in fluid communication with a wheel valve via a fluid control circuit. A pressure of air in the fluid control circuit is measured utilizing the pressure sensor. The method also includes determining whether a leak is present in a fluid control circuit and providing a leakage compensation pressure. The tire pressure is calculated by adding the pressure of the air in the fluid control circuit and the leakage compensation pressure together.

15. A method of determining tire pressure, comprising:
-
providing a control unit which comprises a pressure sensor, wherein the control unit is in fluid communication with a check valve via a fluid control circuit; providing an air supply in fluid communication with the control unit and introducing air from the air supply into the fluid control circuit via two or more pulses; measuring a pressure of the air in the fluid control circuit utilizing the pressure sensor; determining whether a leak is present in a fluid control circuit by measuring the pressure of the air in the fluid control circuit over a predetermined period of time in order to detect a decrease in the pressure; determining a rate by which the pressure of the air in the fluid control circuit decreases to provide a leakage compensation pressure; and calculating a tire pressure by adding the pressure of the air in the fluid control circuit and the leakage compensation pressure together. - View Dependent Claims (16, 17)
