1. A pump cassette comprising a fluid pump, a fluid balancing chamber, a fluid valve and a plurality of fluid flow paths;
- the fluid pump comprising a pumping chamber wall separated from a pump actuation chamber wall by a first flexible diaphragm;
the fluid balancing chamber comprising a first chamber wall separated from a second chamber wall by a second flexible diaphragm;
the fluid valve comprising a valve fluid chamber wall separated from a valve actuation chamber wall by a third flexible diaphragm;
the pump cassette comprising a middle plate separating a top plate from a bottom plate;
the top plate comprising the pumping chamber wall, the first chamber wall, the valve fluid chamber wall and the plurality of fluid flow paths;
the bottom plate comprising the pump actuation chamber wall, the second chamber wall and the valve actuation chamber wall;
the middle plate defining a first open region between the pumping chamber wall and pump actuation chamber wall, a second open region between the first chamber wall and second chamber wall, and a third open region between the valve fluid chamber wall and the valve actuation chamber wall, wherein the first, second and third diaphragms are positioned respectively in said first, second and third open regions;
the middle plate enclosing the plurality of fluid flow paths of the top plate;
wherein the pump actuation chamber wall and the valve actuation chamber wall each includes a pneumatic actuation port, and the second chamber wall includes a fluidic port, said fluidic port communicating through the middle plate with one or more of said plurality of fluid flow paths.

Abstract
A pumping cassette including a housing having at least two inlet fluid lines and at least two outlet fluid lines. At least one balancing pod within the housing and in fluid connection with the fluid paths. The balancing pod balances the flow of a first fluid and the flow of a second fluid such that the volume of the first fluid equals the volume of the second fluid. The balancing pod also includes a membrane that forms two balancing chambers. Also included in the cassette is at least two reciprocating pressure displacement membrane pumps. The pumps are within the housing and they pump the fluid from a fluid inlet to a fluid outlet line and pump the second fluid from a fluid inlet to a fluid outlet.
