1. A solution appliance with appliance status feedback, the solution appliance comprising:
- one or more computer processors;
a memory containing a program which, when executed by the one or more computer processors, performs an operation comprising;
administering resources in response to selection of tasks presented on a user interface, the resources including a first resource provided by a functional appliance to the solution appliance for administration, wherein the functional appliance and the solution appliance are manageable by distinct administrators including a system administrator and a solution administrator, respectively;
assigning the first resource for use by a specified task of a guest user, the guest user having a guest user role that includes permission to use the first resource from the functional appliance;
assigning, to the guest user role, access to status information of the functional appliance;
upon receiving an indication of a status change of the functional appliance accessing a resource map linking the resources to the tasks, in order to identify an impact of the status change; and
generating an indication of the identified impact of the status change, whereafter the indication is output via the user interface.
