Attachments for use with a surgical access device
First Claim
1. A surgical access attachment for use with a surgical access device, the surgical access attachment comprising:
- a ring configured to engage a proximal portion of a surgical access device, the ring including a proximal wall, a distal wall, and an intermediate wall interconnecting the proximal wall and the distal wall; and
an access portion assembly including a lip and a flexible tab having an engagement structure, the lip configured to selectively engage the ring, wherein the lip is disposed 180°
from the flexible tab, each of the lip and the flexible tab is configured to engage a distal surface of the proximal wall of the ring, the engagement structure being configured to selectively engage the ring, the access portion assembly configured to retain a seal;
wherein the access portion assembly is configured to disengage from the ring in response to a predetermined amount of force exerted on the flexible tab.
