1. A method of determining an amount of a component in blood using a biosensor comprising at least two electrodes and a reagent layer comprising a mediator and an oxidoreductase, said reagent layer being disposed on one of said at least two electrodes;

  • the method comprising;

    applying a first voltage between said at least two electrodes such that the electrode on which the reagent layer is disposed acts as a working electrode;

    detecting a first current value generated by the application of the first voltage;

    applying a second voltage between said at least two electrodes such that the electrode on which the reagent layer is disposed acts as a counter electrode; and

    detecting a second current value generated by the application of the second voltage; and

    calculating the amount of the component using the first current value and the second current value,wherein the amount of the component is calculated taking into account an amount of hematocrit present in the blood.
