1. A communication jack configured to receive a plug to form a communication connection, comprising:

  • a plurality of jack contacts, the plurality of jack contacts at least partially disposed within a plug receiving cavity in the jack, wherein each contact has at least a first surface and a second surface, wherein, the first surface is an upper surface and the second surface is a lower surface, wherein, upon the plug being received by the jack, a plurality of plug contacts interface with the first surface only of the plurality of jack contacts; and

    a flexible printed circuit at least partially contained within the plug receiving cavity and electrically and mechanically connected to at least one pair of the plurality of jack contacts approximate to the interface of the plug contacts and the plurality of jack contacts, andwherein the flexible printed circuit is electrically and mechanically connected to the at least one pair of the plurality of jack contacts at the second surface only of the jack contacts.
