1. A method of delivering a stent delivery system, the method comprising:
- inserting the delivery system into a curved path, the delivery system comprising a catheter, a core member disposed within the catheter, first and second restraints coupled to the core member, a stent engagement component coupled to the core member between the first and second restraints, and a stent extending over the first and second restraints, the first and second restraints each having a longitudinally tapered end; and
causing the core member to bend in the curved path without causing the first and second restraints to compress the stent against an inner wall of the catheter, wherein causing the core member to bend causes the stent, positioned over the first and second restraints, to undergo the bend without causing the first and second restraints to contact an inner surface of the stent.

Abstract
A stent delivery system can include a core member, first and second restraints, and a stent engagement component. The core member can have a distal segment. The first and second restraints can be coupled to the core member distal segment and axially spaced apart from each other to provide an axial gap. The first and second restraints can each have an outer profile that tapers radially inwardly in directions away from the gap. The stent engagement component can be at least partially disposed in the axial gap between the first and second restraints such that the component is slidably and rotatably coupled to the core member distal segment.
