1. A method for controlling driveline braking of a hybrid vehicle, comprising:
- providing driveline braking via an electric machine while rotation of an internal combustion engine is stopped to charge a battery; and
starting rotation of the internal combustion engine, providing driveline braking via the rotating internal combustion engine, and reducing driveline braking provided by the electric machine in response to a state of charge of the battery exceeding a threshold.
