1. An infant care apparatus comprising:
- a base;
a drive mechanism disposed on the base;
a support device coupled to the drive mechanism, the support device comprising;
a seating portion;
an arcuate seat support tube extending from one end of the seating portion to another end of the seating portion; and
a housing comprising a supportive housing passage that supports the seat support tube; and
a locking mechanism that secures the seat support tube within the supportive housing passage when the locking mechanism is engaged and allows the seat support tube to slide along at least a portion of the passage when the locking mechanism is disengaged,wherein the locking mechanism comprises a linkage interconnecting a first wedge-shaped recline locker with a second wedge-shaped recline locker, and a camming mechanism attached to one of the recline lockers such that the camming mechanism actuates one or both recline lockers via the linkage and moves the recline lockers toward or away from each other and either into or out of wedged engagement with the arcuate seat support tube, such that said wedged engagement presses the arcuate seat support tube against an interior surface of the supportive housing passage.
