1. A display device comprising:

  • a first drive electrode and a second drive electrode arranged in a display area, the first drive electrode being arranged next to the second drive electrode;

    a touch detection electrode opposed to the first and second drive electrodes;

    a first wiring that is arranged in a peripheral area positioned outside of the display area and is configured to supply an alternating-current signal;

    a first selection switch connected between the first drive electrode and the first wiring, and a second selection switch connected between the second drive electrode and the first wiring; and

    a drive electrode scanning unit configured to control the first and second selection switches,wherein the drive electrode scanning unit includes a first shift register configured to control the first selection switch, a second shift register configured to control the second selection switch, and a third shift register connected to the first shift register and second shift register,wherein an output of the first shift register is supplied to the third shift register, and an output of the third shift register is supplied to the second shift register.
