Handover method, communication device and communication system
First Claim
1. A method for transmitting information in a communication system, wherein the communication system comprises an access node, a donor station of the access node, and a mobility management entity (MME), and the access node accesses the MME through the donor station, the method comprising:
- receiving, by the donor station, a first message sent by the MME, wherein the first message is a handover request message or an initial context setup request message, and the handover request message or the initial context setup request message carries a globally unique MME identifier (GUMMEI) of the MME; and
sending, by the donor station, a second message to the access node, wherein the second message comprises at least one of the handover request message and the initial context setup request message, andthe second message carries the GUMMEI of the MME; and
wherein the GUMMEI of the MME is used by the access node to;
determine a handover type for handing over a user equipment (UE) from the access node to a target access node, the handover type being one of a X2-based handover and an S1-based handover, wherein the handover type is the X2-based handover when an MME pool of the MME to which the UE is attached is the same as an MME pool in one or more MME pools to which the target access node belongs, and the handover type is the S1-based handover when the MME pool of the MME to which the UE is attached is different from any one or more MME pools to which the target access node belongs.

Abstract
The present invention provides a handover method. An access node obtains mobility management entity pool MME pool information which is sent by a donor station of the access node and is used for identifying a mobility management entity MME to which a user equipment UE is attached. The access node initiates handover for the UE according to the MME pool information used for identifying the MME to which the UE is attached. The present invention further provides a communication device and a communication system.

8. A communication device, serving as a donor station of an access node, wherein
the access node accesses a mobility management entity (MME) through the donor station; -
the communication device comprises a processing hardware platform executing instructions stored on a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium, and the instructions, when executed, cause the communication device to; receive a first message sent by the MME, wherein the first message is a handover request message or an initial context setup request message, and the handover request message or the initial context setup request message carries a globally unique MME identifier (GUMMEI) of the MME; and send a second message to the access node, wherein the second message comprises at least one of the handover request message and the initial context setup request message, and the second message carries the GUMMEI of the MME; and
wherein the GUMMEI of the MME is used by the access node to;determine a handover type for handing over a user equipment (UE) from the access node to a target access node, the handover type being one of a X2-based handover and an S1-based handover, wherein the handover type is the X2-based handover when an MME pool of the MME to which the UE is attached is the same as an MME pool in one or more MME pools to which the target access node belongs, and the handover type is the S1-based handover when the MME pool of the MME to which the UE is attached is different from any one or more MME pools to which the target access node belongs. - View Dependent Claims (9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14)
