Using gestures to slide between user interfaces
First Claim
1. A computer-implemented method, comprising:
- at a portable multifunction device with a touch screen display;
displaying a first user interface without concurrently displaying a second user interface that is distinct from the first user interface;
detecting a gesture on the touch screen display to select the second user interface; and
in response to detecting the gesture, displaying an animation of a transition from display of the first user interface to display of the second user interface, the animation comprising sliding a first element of the second user interface onto the display from a first side of the display while simultaneously sliding a second element of the second user interface that contacts the first element horizontally across the top of the first element, wherein the first element of the second user interface is distinct from the second element of the second user interface.

Abstract
A first user interface is displayed without concurrently displaying a second user interface that is distinct from the first user interface. A gesture to select the second user interface is detected on the touch screen display. In response to detecting the gesture, an animation is displayed of a transition from display of the first user interface to display of the second user interface. The animation comprises sliding a first element of the second user interface onto the display from a first side of the display while simultaneously sliding a second element of the second user interface that contacts the first element horizontally across the top of the first element. The first element of the second user interface is distinct from the second element of the second user interface.

10. A portable multifunction device, comprising:
-
a touch screen display; one or more processors; memory; and one or more programs, wherein the one or more programs are stored in the memory and configured to be executed by the one or more processors, the one or more programs including instructions for; displaying a first user interface without concurrently displaying a second user interface that is distinct from the first user interface; detecting a gesture on the touch screen display to select the second user interface; and in response to detecting the gesture, displaying an animation of a transition from display of the first user interface to display of the second user interface, the animation comprising sliding a first element of the second user interface onto the display from a first side of the display while simultaneously sliding a second element of the second user interface that contacts the first element horizontally across the top of the first element, wherein the first element of the second user interface is distinct from the second element of the second user interface. - View Dependent Claims (11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18)

19. A non-transitory computer readable storage medium having stored therein instructions, which when executed by a portable multifunction device with a touch screen display, cause the device to:
-
display a first user interface without concurrently displaying a second user interface that is distinct from the first user interface; detect a gesture on the touch screen display to select the second user interface; and in response to detecting the gesture, display an animation of a transition from display of the first user interface to display of the second user interface, the animation comprising sliding a first element of the second user interface onto the display from a first side of the display while simultaneously sliding a second element of the second user interface that contacts the first element horizontally across the top of the first element, wherein the first element of the second user interface is distinct from the second element of the second user interface. - View Dependent Claims (20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27)
