1. A continuous analyte monitoring assembly adapted to assist in determining an analyte level of a fluid, the continuous analyte monitoring assembly comprising:
- a housing having a bottom, the bottom forming a recess;
electronics located within the housing, the electronics being adapted to assist in determining an analyte level of a fluid sample;
an implantable sensor comprising a sensor body and at least one electrode disposed on the sensor body, wherein the implantable sensor is adapted to move from a retracted position to an inserted position through the recess, wherein in the retracted position the implantable sensor is at least partially curved and stowed at least partially inside the housing, wherein in the retracted position the at least one electrode resides above a host'"'"'s skin, wherein in the inserted position the implantable sensor extends at least partially out of the housing, wherein in the inserted position the at least one electrode is adapted to at least partially reside under the host'"'"'s skin; and
a cannula being adapted to assist in placing the implantable sensor.
