1. A method of location refinement, the method comprising:

  • aggregating global positioning system (GPS) data, received from each of multiple devices that are proximately located relative to at least one other of the multiple devices, over a period of time;

    estimating a location for each of the multiple devices at intervals during the period of time based on, at least, the aggregated GPS data;

    determining a current location for each of the multiple devices based on a trend of the estimated locations for a respective device, for each of the multiple devices over the period of time;

    refining the determined current location of a vehicle that corresponds to a particular one of the multiple devices, relative to a road, by comparing the determined current location for each of the multiple devices.
