- an interrogation interface;
a food-attribute-identification circuit coupled to the interrogation interface, configured to store food-attribute data associated with a food product having a permittivity, and configured to provide, before the food-attribute-identification circuit is consumed, the food-attribute data in response to the interrogation interface;
an antenna coupled to the interrogation interface and configured for sensitivity at a frequency range that is a function of the permittivity of the food product; and
an encapsulant not including the food product, disposed over the interrogation interface, the food-attribute-identification circuit, and the antenna, configured for admixing with the food product, and having one or more organoleptic attributes that mimic the food product.

a palatable substrate having at least one electrical trace and having one or more organoleptic attributes that mimic a food product, the palatable substrate being distinct from the food product and being configured to be admixed with the food product, the palatable substrate having a dielectric constant; an integrated circuit disposed on the substrate; an interrogation interface disposed on the substrate, coupled to the at least one electrical trace, and configured to provide information about the food product to a location remote from the palatable substrate while the palatable substrate is mixed with the food product but before the palatable substrate is consumed; and an antenna disposed on the palatable substrate, coupled to the interrogation interface, and configured to self-compensate for the dielectric constant of the palatable substrate. - View Dependent Claims (13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21)

configuring an integrated circuit to obtain attributes of a food product while the integrated circuit is mixed with the food product and before the food product is consumed, the food product having a permittivity; configuring an antenna coupled to the integrated circuit in response to the permittivity of the food product; and encapsulating the integrated circuit in an encapsulant having one or more organoleptic attributes that mimic the food product, the encapsulant not including the food product.

obtaining food-attribute information in response to a food product with an edible transponder device while the edible transponder device is mixed with the food product, the edible transponder device having a dielectric constant and having one or more organoleptic properties that mimic one or more organoleptic properties of the food product, the edible transponder not including the food product; compensating an antenna disposed on the edible transponder device in response to the dielectric constant of the edible transponder device; and transmitting, via the antenna, the food-attribute information to a destination that is remote from the edible transponder device before the edible transponder device is eaten. - View Dependent Claims (24)
