Indication mechanism for an automatic applicator, particularly for insulin
First Claim
1. An applicator for liquid pharmaceutical preparations with a mechanism for medicine dose setting and an indication barrel for indicating a set dose and a corrected dose, comprising:
- a container housing configured to receive a needle at the front end;
an applicator housing comprising narrower external diameter on the top portion at its rear end and a wider external diameter;
the mechanism for medicine dose setting which comprises a plunger connected to a nut secured in the applicator housing;
wherein a clutch surrounds at least one-half of the length of the plunger, the clutch comprising longitudinal and substantially cylindrical portion with an internal space adapted to receive the plunger;
wherein the clutch is connected to a ratchet mechanism and a turning knob mounted rotatably on the applicator housing;
wherein the clutch is arranged coaxially with the longitudinal axis of the applicator housing and extends above a first end of a driving helical spring which is connected to a spring element block, the spring element block being located at the rear end of the applicator housing and at least partially covered by the turning knob;
wherein the turning knob comprises an internal diameter adapted to fit to narrower external diameter on the top portion at rear end of the applicator housing and an external diameter substantially equal to the wider external diameter of the applicator housing;
wherein the mechanism for medicine dose setting comprises a trigger used in conjunction with the driving helical spring and activated in the direction of the needle;
the indication barrel comprises an open foremost end and an open rearward end that are sized to accept a second barrel;
the indication barrel being mounted on the second barrel in the applicator housing, such that the indication barrel is able to cover at least half of the length of the second barrel and is unable to be disconnected from the coupling with the second barrel when working;
wherein the second barrel is mounted rotatably within the applicator housing and is connected to a driving helical spring and to a mechanism for medicine dose setting;
wherein when the second barrel is rotated clockwise, looking in the direction of the needle, the dose is set, and when rotated anti-clockwise the dose is corrected;
wherein the indication barrel travels in the axial direction and simultaneously rotates together with the second barrel and shows a marking of the set or the corrected dose through an inspection window located in the applicator housing.

Abstract
The present disclosure concerns an indication mechanism for an automatic applicator, particularly for insulin or other liquid preparations, particularly for multiple injection administration of set doses of a medicine from an exchangeable container, for example for the self-application of insulin by diabetes patients. An indication mechanism for an automatic applicator, having an assembly of at least two barrels movably coupled to each other has an indication barrel mounted on the driving barrel contains only marking on its external surface and is co-axially connected to the pull-push control nut.
