Electric power transmission device, vehicle, and non-contact electric power transmission and reception system
First Claim
1. An electric power transmission device externally transmitting electric power to a vehicle, the electric power transmission device comprising:
- an electric power transmission portion for transmitting electric power in a non-contact manner to an electric power reception portion of the vehicle;
a communication portion for communicating with the vehicle; and
a control device controlling the electric power transmission portion and the communication portion, the control device;
checking whether the electric power reception portion and the electric power transmission portion are properly positioned relative to each other after the vehicle completes positioning with respect to the electric power transmission portion and before electric power transmission from the electric power transmission portion to the electric power reception portion;
allowing the electric power transmission portion to start electric power transmission to the vehicle based on a request from the vehicle when the electric power reception portion and the electric power transmission portion are properly positioned relative to each other;
causing the electric power transmission portion to transmit weak electric power based on a positioning request from the vehicle;
checking whether the electric power reception portion and the electric power transmission portion are properly positioned relative to each other after positioning using the weak electric power; and
causing the electric power transmission portion to transmit electric power based on a charging request, the transmitted electric power being larger than the weak electric power.

Abstract
An electric power transmission device includes an electric power transmission portion, a first communication portion, and a first control device controlling the electric power transmission portion and the first communication portion. A vehicle includes an electric power reception portion, a second communication portion, and a second control device controlling the electric power reception portion and the second communication portion. The first control device and the second control device determine whether or not to cause the electric power transmission portion to transmit electric power based on an instruction from a user which is provided after the user is notified of a status of electric power reception in the electric power reception portion or an estimated status of electric power reception in the electric power reception portion.
