1. A digital computer comprising at least:

  • a processing unit connected to memory;

    further connected to a visual display unit hardware device, the computer programmed to produce a graphical user interface for enabling continuity of access control in a body of digital documents in common formats selected from a set comprising XML and HTML, comprising;

    a first display region for editing document contents, wherein an access-control-discontinuous hyperlink is graphically represented by a visual element which comprises a commonly visually recognizable representation of a hyperlink distinctly modified by at least one step selected from a set comprising;

    highlighting;

    font modification;

    region outlining; and

    insertion of a graphic; and

    a second display region which contains a graphical representation of a set exclusively comprising one or more users for whom the access-control-discontinuous hyperlink would effect access-control-discontinuity;

    wherein a user is graphically represented by a visual element which comprises the identity of the user; and

    wherein the access-control-discontinuous hyperlink has been determined to be access-control-discontinuous by programmatically determining its meeting the requirements of a definition of the term “

    access-control-discontinuous hyperlink”

    as a hyperlink from the displayed document to another document wherein the exactly determinable set of individual users who effectively are allowed to access the displayed document contains at least one user who is not contained in the exactly determinable set of individual users who effectively are allowed to access the linked to document.
