1. A golf club head, comprising:
- a golf club head base member including a face portion and an aft portion integrally formed or engaged with the face portion,wherein an exterior surface of the golf club head base member steps inward between the face portion and the aft portion, andwherein the aft portion includes at least a first opening and a second opening defined through it,wherein the first opening and the second opening are separated from one another by a part of the aft portion of the golf club head base member, andwherein the part of the aft portion separating the first opening and the second opening has a first surface and a second surface opposite the first surface; and
a polymeric body engaged with the aft portion of the golf club head base member at least in part by embedding the part of the aft body portion separating the first opening and the second opening within a polymer material of the polymeric body so that the polymeric material extends through and fills the first and second openings and covers both the first and second surfaces of the part of the aft body portion separating the first opening and the second opening;
wherein the polymeric body overlays the exterior surface of the aft portion of the golf club head base member,wherein at least some portion of an exterior surface of the polymeric body is coated with a metal containing material.
