- a communication interface programmed to receive, at a host vehicle, signals transmitted from a target vehicle; and
a processor programmed to calculate a Doppler shift associated with the signals transmitted from the target vehicle and determine whether the target vehicle is moving toward the host vehicle based on the Doppler shift,wherein the processor is programmed to determine that the target vehicle and host vehicle are on intersecting roads in response to receiving the signals from the target vehicle and calculate the Doppler shift of the signals as a result of determining that the host vehicle and the target vehicle are on intersecting roads,wherein the processor is programmed to determine whether the host vehicle and the target vehicle are on intersecting roads based at least in part on data transmitted with the signals from the target vehicle and virtual map data.
