1. A method for shifting a transmission, comprising:
- in response to each of a request to restart an engine and to upshift the transmission, and after release of an off-going clutch, initiating application of an on-coming clutch and applying a load from the engine to an input shaft of the transmission via initiating application of a driveline disconnect clutch, the application of the on-coming clutch and the application of the driveline disconnect clutch initiated concurrently.

7. A method for shifting a transmission, comprising:
-
in response to a transmission upshift request and a request to restart an engine, determining an availability of a driveline integrated starter/generator (DISG); and responsive to determining that the DISG is available, releasing an off-going clutch, initiating application of an on-coming clutch, reducing input torque to the transmission and accelerating the engine to a desired cranking speed by coupling the engine to an input shaft of the transmission with a driveline disconnect clutch; and rotating the engine with torque applied from the DISG to the transmission input shaft, the engine not coupled to the input shaft of the transmission prior to the transmission upshift request; and responsive to determining that the DISG is unavailable, releasing the off-going clutch, applying the on-coming clutch, and applying the driveline disconnect clutch, an application pressure of the driveline disconnect clutch increased until an impeller speed of a torque converter is reduced to less than a threshold speed. - View Dependent Claims (8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13)

14. A hybrid vehicle system, comprising:
-
an engine; a dual mass flywheel including a first side mechanically coupled to the engine; a driveline disconnect clutch mechanically including a first side coupled to a second side of the dual mass flywheel; a driveline integrated starter/generator (DISG) including a first side coupled to a second side of the driveline disconnect clutch; a transmission coupled to the DISG; and a controller including non-transitory instructions executable to; initiate each of an engine start and a transmission shift request; release an off-going clutch; and after a predetermined time period, begin applying an on-coming clutch and begin applying the driveline disconnect clutch concurrently to couple the engine to an input shaft of the transmission, wherein the driveline disconnect clutch application is modulated in response to an engine speed. - View Dependent Claims (15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20)
