1. A method for analyzing operation characteristics of a vehicle driver, the method comprising:
- providing an analyzing vehicle system in a vehicle for acquiring location data and speed data of the vehicle, the analyzing vehicle system including a base device fixed to the vehicle and a mobile device selectively removable from the vehicle;
determining a driver operation characteristics parameter in the analyzing vehicle system in the vehicle, wherein the parameter is a plurality of position coordinates acquired by a position sensor and speed data of the vehicle, and wherein the speed data are separated from those location data that indicate a position where a specific speed was driven in different files containing either the location data or the respective speed data in a way that a direct correlation between speed data and corresponding location data is destroyed due to the separation and in a way that prevents re-association of any individual speed value with a specific coordinate point indicating where the speed was driven, and wherein the speed data are mixed in order in its file;
transmitting the parameter from the analyzing vehicle system to a stationary processing unit distal from the vehicle; and
determining a driver operation characteristic within the stationary processing unit.

Abstract
A method analyzes characteristics of a vehicle driver, especially for insurance purposes. The method is performed by a cooperation of an analyzing vehicle system in a vehicle and a stationary processing unit remote from the vehicle. The analyzing vehicle system determines a driver operation characteristics parameter from the driving vehicle and sends the parameter to the stationary processing unit. The stationary processing unit derives a metric from that parameter as driver operation characteristics.

providing an analyzing vehicle system in a vehicle with a position sensor for acquiring location data of the vehicle, the analyzing vehicle system including a base device fixed to the vehicle and a mobile device selectively removable from the vehicle; determining a driver operation characteristics parameter in the analyzing vehicle system in the vehicle; transmitting the parameter to a stationary processing unit; and determining a driver operation characteristic within the stationary processing unit; during a movement of the vehicle, determining with the analyzing vehicle system position coordinates of the vehicle and camouflaging the position coordinates so determined by a position error by adding an error to the determined position coordinates so determined; and calculating a travel route trend line from the camouflaged position coordinates. - View Dependent Claims (17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28)
